Offended? Rachel, I'm friends with your brother, Jason. One has to be immune to getting offended in order to be friends with him. I don't know why I dragged him into this. Maybe now he's offended. Haha.

Eric, were you offended that I don't like Conan? Hopefully not. Otherwise I'm offended that you're offended. :)

I actually meant my comment was off topic, not your post. No offense intended. I hadn't heard of them so I just did a Google search and thought this article was funny.

They should for sure get best album design of all time. That thing's awesome.

Keep up the good work guys.

OT? Overtime? Off Topic? Occupational Therapy? I'm going with off topic. Sure, it's off topic, sorry for the diversion, but it's what I'm into. And yeah, like the article is sarcastically saying, liking Animal Collective has turned into a kind of snobby thing, but I'm not entirely sure why. I would venture to say that a lot of people don't actually like the music, but they're told by critics that it's good, so they want to appear that they like the music. Not sure. I would talk about the actual AC music all day long if someone would listen. It's the melodies, song structures, the vocals, attention to details, unique instrumentation, harmonies, creepy yet beautiful (psychedelic, for lack of a better word) ambiance, vocal motifs, archetypal tribal rhythms, amazing live shows, consistency, and the overall originality in an almost-dead genre: pop music, and every sub-genre, including rock 'n' roll. So, there you go, there are some reasons to listen to Animal Collective, other than Stereogum or Pitchfork saying they're good.

Listen to "Grass" from the album, Feels. That's the first song I heard by AC and I couldn't stop listening after that. You'll either love or hate the song. It's divisive. It's binary. Blah blah blah....
