		<description>One of the biggest supports of climate change requiring "crisis-type" actions has been the idea that these changes will cause catastrophic weather to occur more often (more tornadoes, more hurricanes, etc).  

Despite the availability of scientific data showing otherwise, I continually hear that there are more earthquakes this year than ten years ago, or that there are more violent hurricanes this year than ten years ago.  

Well, I was happy to see on Bloomberg a couple days ago, "The Atlantic hurricane season ended today after producing the fewest named storms in 12 years. It was the first time in three years that no hurricane struck the U.S. mainland."  As a result, Al Gore has removed a slide from his global warming presentation that global warming causes more hurricanes.
