Cap and Trade: A Jobs (Killing) Bill

Obama likes to call Cap and Trade a green jobs bill.  Well, if Spains experience teaches us anything, it is a jobs killing bill.  Oh yeah, and Obama likes to point to Spain as an example of all the green job creation.

Dr. Gabriel Calzada, an economics professor at Juan Carlos University in Madrid, said the United States should expect results similar to those in Spain:

“Spain’s experience (cited by President Obama as a model) reveals with high confidence, by two different methods, that the U.S. should expect a loss of at least 2.2 jobs on average, or about 9 jobs lost for every 4 created, to which we have to add those jobs that non-subsidized investments with the same resources would have created,” wrote Calzada in his report.”

The party in power cares nothing about the environment, its just a ploy to gain control and money nothing more. Many of their leaders know that this cap and trade bill will make things worse in the long run, but they hope to reap short term benefits.

I suspect thousands of years ago when the first paleo-indians crossed into what is now Alaska and continued on down into the United States they were quite startled to see the great glaciers of that time melting and fearing the onrushing water of the great seas and lakes they dimmed their campfires and eventually seeing no results the resorted to sacrifice to the old gods. Now some 15,000 years later again the new cave-dwellers of the vast canyons of the sprawling urban areas are again calling for the dimming of the campfires to stop the rising waters. And I’m sure given enough time will again call for the sacrifice of a virgin to appease the gods of science. Now where to find a virgin may present an entirely new problem. The Chicken Little’s of the world will always be with us.
