I’ve noticed President Obama is a magician. He diverts everyone’s attention with his words and then does something completely contrary. For example, he will talk about fiscal restraint and how we need to balance the budget and at the same time he’s the worst president for the budget in our history. His formula is as follows:
1) Decide what socialist agenda you want to force on the people.
2) Make a speech about a conservative theme such as lowering taxes for 95% of Americans, fiscal discipline, etc so moderates will think he isn’t extreme.
3) While everyone is looking at your right hand, implement socialist policies with your left hand. He’s like the Pied Piper, slowly leading us to our destruction.

I’ve been trying to find the article referenced below before responding, but I can’t…if anyone knows how to find it please post..
There was a really good op-ed by Karl Rove a month or so ago. It discussed how Obama has a very unique gift at appealing to both sides during his speeches. He wrote that some of Obama’s Harvard professors had noticed that Obama could frequently take part in a debate (representing only one side), but that while he was delivering his arguments, it was done with a skill that had ALL the audience members nodding in agreement. They would poll the audience members after to see which way they were swayed, and whose arguments had convinced them… and BOTH sides would say that Obama had represented their side.
The point of the op-ed was to say that this may be a great strategy/skill for politics, but its a horrible strategy for policy. No one ever understands where you stand, because you sound as if you stand for everything… and therefore nothing.
No doubt about it Obama is a great politican, let me qualify that–some of his advisors are great political thinkers. Obama, is a phoney in every repect as far as I’m concerned. These deception tactics will eventually get old and the plays will get old and the opposition will learn the moves and the game still has quite a way to go.
